Rosemary Works Early Years Centre was opened in 1997 to provide high quality childcare to the local community and families working in the surrounding areas. We are recognised by Ofsted as a ‘Good’ Nursery

We have a cook on site and the nursery provides a healthy, nutritious diet to all the children including breakfast, snacks, lunch and tea.  Fresh, local, seasonal produce are used when available. The menu is vegetarian, but also includes fish.

We believe that parents and staff working together is vital to ensuring a child’s individual needs are fully met and each child gets the most out of nursery.

We offer a free settling in week, which is flexible and gradual. One member of staff will be specially chosen to nurture your child from the day he or she arrives and to support you. This designated member of staff will be your child’s ‘key carer’.  They will work very closely with you and will be available to talk to you regularly.

The children enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities provided by specialist staff. Music and movement sessions with Double Bass Dan, football sessions with coach James, Forest School with Hannah, yoga with Keisha. The children also enjoy cooking sessions following our healthy ‘Eat Better, Start Better’ programme and take part in celebrating all cultural events and festivals.

We choose our staff very carefully. They have committed to a career in childcare and therefore have a genuine love for children. They are committed to developing each child to their full potential. Many of our staff have been with the nursery for 10 years and some of us for longer.

At Rosemary Works EYC we believe that children in the early years learn through play.  Children learn about measures and quantity through cooking, sand play, water play etc.  They develop their pre-writing skills by exploring the marks made with paints, or with sticks in sand.

The children at Rosemary Works enjoy daily opportunities to discover the world around them. We go on trips to the parks every day as well as outings to museums, fire stations, farms, canal boats, dentist and local shops.
