Extra-curricular activities

Our nursery offers an exciting range of extra-curricular activities designed to inspire young minds and foster a love of learning. Here are some of the wonderful activities our nursery children enjoy:

Forest school:

Our Big Playschool children enjoy a weekly Forest School program led by Hannah, our qualified Forest School teacher. At Forest School, our children explore the great outdoors and develop their curiosity and creativity through a range of hands-on activities, such as nature walks, bug hunts and building shelters. Forest School helps to develop important skills such as problem-solving, team work, and resilience, while fostering a deep connection with nature.

Music and Movement:

Our music and movement sessions are led by the talented Double-Bass Dan, who engages the children in fun and interactive songs and musical activities that capture the attention of even our youngest learners. Through music and movement, our children develop their motor skills, coordination, and sense of rhythm. These sessions are also a lovely bonding time as carers help children discover the joy of self-expression through music and dance.

Football:

For our Big Playschool children we offer Little Soccer Stars sessions with coaches Harry and James. These sessions are all about having fun while learning the basics about football. Through imaginative games and activities, our children develop their coordination, balance, and social skills, in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Little Soccer Stars also ignite a love for the sport while promoting team work and physical fitness.

French:

At Rosemary Works, we introduce our children to the joys of learning a new language through engaging French sessions led by Jumping Bean. Our little learners explore basic vocabulary, songs and simple phrases, in an fun and interactive way. Learning French at an early age not only enhances their language skills but also boosts their cognitive development and cultural awareness.

Cooking sessions:

At Rosemary Works, the children take part in cooking sessions following our healthy ‘Eat Better, Start Better’ program. These sessions provide children with hands-on experience as they learn about healthy eating and the importance of nutritious food. Guided by their carers, the children participate in fun and engaging cooking activities, from mixing ingredients to tasting their creations. These sessions not only promote healthy eating habits, but also teach valuable life skills, such as following instructions, measuring ingredients, and working together as a team.

*We do charge a small fee for Forest School, Music and Movement, and Little Soccer Stars. You may opt out of these if you wish.
