Extra-curricular activities
Our nursery offers an exciting range of extra-curricular activities designed to inspire young minds and foster a love of learning. Here are some of the wonderful activities our nursery children enjoy:
Forest school:
Our older children enjoy a weekly Forest School program led by Abai, our qualified Forest School teacher. At Forest School, our children explore the great outdoors and develop their curiosity and creativity through a range of hands-on activities, such as nature walks, bug hunts and building shelters. Forest School helps to develop important skills such as problem-solving, team work, and resilience, while fostering a deep connection with nature.
Music and Movement:
Our music and movement sessions are led by the talented Double-Bass Dan, who engages the children in fun and interactive songs and musical activities that capture the attention of even our youngest learners. Through music and movement, our children develop their motor skills, coordination, and sense of rhythm. These sessions are also a lovely bonding time as carers help children discover the joy of self-expression through music and dance.

Football:
For our older children, in Oak and Chestnut, we offer Little Soccer Stars sessions with Coach Alkeo. These sessions are all about having fun while learning the basics about football. Through imaginative games and activities, our children develop their coordination, balance, and social skills, in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Little Soccer Stars also ignite a love for the sport while promoting team work and physical fitness.

Swimming:
Our Oak children alos enjoy fortnightly swimming sessions at Kings Hall Leisure Centre. With gentle guidance from their carers, the children engage in playful activities that encourage them to explore and enjoy the water safely. These enjoyable sessions build confidence and promote a love of swimming from an early age, fostering physical coordination and a healthy lifestyle in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Cooking sessions:
Our children take part in regular cooking sessions following our healthy ‘Eat Better, Start Better’ program. Guided by their carers, the children participate in fun and engaging cooking activities, from mixing ingredients to tasting their creations. These sessions not only promote healthy eating habits, but also teach valuable life skills, such as following instructions, measuring ingredients, and working together as a team.
